Scales Used in the Questionnaire

The scales used in the questionnaire are the following: Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ9), Generalised Anxiety Disorder Assessment (GAD7), Warwick Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMBS), Spirituality Index of Well-being (SIWB) and the Diener satisfaction with life scale (SWLS).

In psychotherapy research, questionnaires about symptoms have been gradually shaped in this way and it has been found that there is considerable commonality in the experience of low mood and anxiety. We use two ratings of these (the PHQ9 and the GAD7) in our questionnaire, and the responses to them are highly correlated with clinical evaluations and with the responses to other questionnaires

The spirituality and well-being scales (WEMBS, SIWB, SWLS) were chosen because they are consistent with existential therapy’s goals in increasing the depth and richness of a person’s life experience, and their sense of meaning and a commitment to a consistent set of values.
